Meet Theresa & Tracy
Seven years ago, we found out that kids in Newmarket were coming to school without socks and basic winter coats. WHAT?! We were horrified. And knew we couldn’t just stand by, that we had to get involved and try to help.
So we gathered up some used winter clothing, got our friends to do the same and bought a bunch of brand new warm socks and dropped everything off at two local Newmarket schools.
And that marked the year Project Warmth was born.
We started off supplying schools with extra clothes to be stored away and used when kids were seen at recess or coming to school needing specific winter items.
Year after year we grew and we now work directly with school administrations in Aurora and a Newmarket drive and help provide winter clothing, grocery gift cards, Christmas dinners, new pyjamas and other important items to over 200 local families.
